Use the principles of to cleanse your space and make it ready for a new buyer.

Can using the ancient techniques of Feng Shui help you sell your house? Many people think so. Home buyers often choose a property because it “feels right.” This may be even more true in the luxury housing market, where buyers can afford to hold out for the perfect home.

Literally translated from Chinese, Feng Shui means “wind water.” To the ancient Chinese people, wind and water were associated with health and luck. Feng Shui is a way to balance the energies in your environment in order to promote good health and good luck. In practical terms, Feng Shui shows you how to organize your home in order to have a healthier and happier life.

While Feng Shui is often used to enhance your home life, it can just as easily be used to demonstrate the strengths of your home to any potential buyers.

Use Feng Shui to Prepare for the Sale

You want to remove your energy from this house in order to allow someone else’s to flow into it. That means getting rid of anything personal like pictures, paintings, books, and knickknacks. If you try to leave a part of yourself in your house, a part of the house will still be in you. You won’t really want to let it go. And if you don’t really want to sell it, it’s a lot less likely to happen. Take active steps to ensure that everyone in your household is ready to let go and move on.

Three Rooms That Sell A House

Three rooms in your house are much more important than the others simply because each room serves an essential purpose in living. These three rooms are the kitchen, the bathroom, and the bedroom. Your potential buyer needs to know that his new home will provide him with food, relaxation, and rest. Other rooms are luxurious, but these rooms are essential to good health. Making sure each of these rooms is filled with good energy will give your luxury house the right feel for potential buyers.

Kitchen

The kitchen has two conflicting elements that need to maintain a careful balance: fire (from the oven) and water (from the sink). If you have red walls, balance it with a white countertop or floor. If you have a blue picture, get a yellow hand towel. The countertops should be free of clutter, only holding a basket of fruit or a vase of flowers.

Bathroom

The bathroom drains energy out of the house rather than bringing energy to it. To combat this, you should do two things. First, you should insist that the house be shown with the bathroom doors shut. This will prevent energy draining out of the rest of the house. Second, you should decorate the bathroom to give it more of a spa feeling. Keep the toilet lid down, and leave the window open. If possible, the bathroom should be white or a light shade of blue to accent the water element.

Bedroom

The bedroom is a place for physical, mental, and sexual healing and rejuvenation. As such, there should be no tv, computer, exercise equipment, or anything work related in the bedroom. The room should be white, brown, or any skin toned color in between for a more earthy energy. The bed needs to be the main focus in the room because that’s where all the healing and rejuvenation takes place.

Feng Shui reaches back thousands of years and has stood the test of time. While it has many applications, why not use it to sell your house. Not only will tweaking the three rooms help you sell your house faster and for more money, it will help you be at peace with moving to a new home and moving on with your life.
